This event is intended to bring together geocachers so we can
discuss and figure out how to waymark the place. The event will be
hosted at Infoage, the non-profit science and information
technology museum. There are many interesting historical locations
on the property, and Infoage would love some help from the Caching
community to properly mark up those landmarks.
Event starts at 10:00am. Just meet in the parking lot by the
museum's gate.
The plan is to get together, explore a bit of the museum, learn
a bit about waymarking and then put theory into practice by
creating a number of waymarks related to significant locations
within what used to be the Camp Evans area of Fort Monmouth, which
has since been transferred over to the county for science and
technology educational uses and is now referred to as the Infoage
museum.
Some of the locations we will be exploring in the area include
historical footings for some of the first long range radio
transmission towers that were capable of sending signals across the
Atlantic.
The museum will be open special for us to visit during this
event (admissions waived for those who participate in the event)
and there will be an antique radio swap meet occurring as well.
Plan to brown bag your lunch.
