Come see the Vintage Computer Museum at the InfoAge Science Center, sponsored by MARCH (Mid-Atlantic Retro Computing Hobbyists).
Our museum is open most Sundays from 1pm - 5pm and other times by appointment. Currently we have four exhibits: 1. Classic Microcomputers, 2. Homebrew and Single-Board Computers, 3. Minicomputers, 4. Big Iron. Some of the exhibits we're planning for 2011 and beyond include portable computers, gaming, data storage, bulletin board systems, component design, alternating exhibits for our own members, and many more!
Some highlights of our collection include a UNIVAC 1219, DEC PDP-8, IBM System/38, Altair 8800, IMSAI 8080 -- and so much more that you'll have to see it to believe it. Our club has one of the most impressive vintage computer collections you'll find outside of northern California. We could list it all here, but we're biased -- we want you to come see it in person!
Our group also hosts special events. Our flagship event is the Vintage Computer Festival East. Its next iteration will be VCF East 7.0 in spring 2011.
Here's a brief video montage of our 2008 event:
Can't wait? Meet us in 2010 at the Trenton Computer Festival (Sat., April 24), HOPE (Sat., July 17), Maker Faire NYC (Sept. 25-26), or any of our various social events and technical workshops.
In addition to showcasing vintage computers, we strive to restore these unique machines to operational condition. We are not just about "exhibit queens" -- instead we prefer "The Hands-On Imperative" -- that's where the real fun exists. Whether you're interested in BASIC, paper tape, punched cards, joysticks, analog computers, or even vacuum tubes, we've got something for everyone.
