Architectural Feature: Interior
 Date: 1980s

The fire station was once occupied 24 hours a day.  Behind the two-truck bay (Photo Nos. 68 and 69) are the living quarters.  This area has a kitchen (Photo No. 70), offices, boiler room, lounge, bunk room, restroom and pantry.  The interior was remodeled with pine wainscot in the 1980s.  Considerable damage occurred in removing the kitchen equipment and build-in desks and bunks  (Photo Nos. 71 and 72).

Photos: 68, 69, 70, 71, and 72.

Proposed work

The complete interior needs work and has been scheduled as a Phase V activity.  As a specific reuse for this building has not been determined it will be maintained as is.  Once the historically appropriate reuse is identified, the interior remodeling will be planned.  During center development the large two truck bay space can be used as an exhibit workshop.  The kitchen can be used for food preparation of volunteer meals.
