Architectural Feature: Interior, Sections A, B, and C.
 Date: 1943; 1960s

The interior of Sections A - B - C of 9036 appear to have been modified by different projects over the last 60 years in a piecemeal fashion.  Each section has a central hall running the length of the section.  Within the walls are support columns.  To each side of the hall are offices and former laboratory rooms.  All interior walls are non-bearing partition walls.  Some rooms have added wood paneling while others have had new modern doors and door frames added.  (Photo Nos. 89, 90, and 91)

Proposed work

During Phase IV, prepare space for flexible use for Infoage, science-history center programs and program compatible short-term event rental. By the removal of twenty-two selected partition walls in Sections A and B a number of small laboratory and office rooms would be opened creating fifteen larger flexible spaces (see Drawing 9036A/B Existing Conditions and Proposed Changes).  In Section C removing seven partition walls would create ten flexible spaces.  These spaces could be used as classrooms, laboratories, or exhibit space (see Drawing 9036C/D Existing Conditions and Proposed Changes).  Consideration will be given to the possibility of creating classroom size spaces for evening use by the adjacent community college.  Upgrade restroom as per ADA standards.   Add exit signs and fire alarms as per current fire code.
