Architectural Feature: Heating Plant for 9036 & 9037
Date: 1943
This masonry structure is rectangular and houses two boilers to heat the 'H' building complex 9036/9037. It is the only heat plant with a hip roof (Photo No. 100). The boilers are at basement level. The boiler pipes and auxiliary equipment take up the space from basement floor to ceiling (Photo No. 101). This plant is the largest boiler building and has a ground level shop on the east side. This plant has not been used since possibly 1996 and the possibility of restoring these boilers to working condition is questionable.

Proposed work
During Phase I, service oil/gas boilers and evaluate the possibility and feasibility of eliminating the central oil fired boilers. The central system would be replaced by individuals systems in each section of the 'H' complex. The conversion would take place when funds allowed. The heating plants could then be used for tall exhibits or other special exhibits.
