8.23 Standby Generator Shed (Building 9057)

Architectural Feature: Exterior
 Date: 1942

Building 9057 is a one story, frame garage with a composite shingle gable roof (Photo No. 102).  It has a concrete block foundation and poured concrete floor. Its exterior has wood shiplap siding.  The building measures 30'3" x 36' 3".  Two garage doors with glass windows are located on the west gable end of the building (Photo No. 103).  The building is in need of paint and minor repair.  The Fort Monmouth BRAC office is considering demolishing this structure to use its foundation and concrete slab for a new electric substation.  The existing substation needs to be removed to remove PCB contamination.  The use of this foundation and slab will reduce BRAC costs.

Photos: 102 and 103.

Proposed work

During Phase I, repaint and make minor repairs. It can be reused for storage and workspace during all Phases.  Later it can serve as storage space.
