Maj. Cottony Tendered
Farewell

Major H. V. Cottony, Chief, Thermionics Branch, ESL, was
tendered a farewell luncheon at the ESL Cafeteria, 18 October 1945, by fellow members of the Branch. Attached to
these Laboratories during the last four and one half years, of which time the
Major was responsible for the functions of the Thermionics Branch for a period of sixteen months, he was
previously associated with other sections of SCEL among which were Antenna and Mechanical
Design, Statistics and Analysis, and Personnel.
Prior to entering the Army Major Cottony was employed at
the National Bureau of
Standards, Washington, D. C., to which he intends to return after a trip to Colorado
and California.
The Major is a graduate of the Cooper Union University where he received a degree of B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He also attended the Brooklyn Institute of Technology and Columbia University where he received an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering.
